Actor Vishal meets Hon'ble Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami - Tamil Film Producers Council
The newly-elected president of Tamil Film Producers Council Vishal, along with other office-bearers today called on Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami at the Secretariat and impressed upon him the need to get cracking on piracy and increasing ticket prices in the State.
Actor Vishal meets CM Palaniswami in the representation, has urged the Chief Minister to take efforts to do away with piracy. He requested him to take action against newly-released films being screened illegally in omni buses and private vans.
He was accompanied by secretaries of Producers Council Kathiresan and Gnanavelraja, vice-presidents Prakashraj and Gautham Vasudev Menon besides treasurer S R Prabhu. Also present on the occasion were filmmaker RV Uthayakumar, exhibitors Abirami Ramanathan and Pannerselvam.
The TNFPC official statement reveals that Vishal and the members requested permission to build small theaters across the state, eradicating piracy and banning private buses from illegally playing new movies. The petition has been received by the CMO and it remains to be seen if the proposed industry strike from the 30th of May will be discontinued.
