Cannes Film Festival 2017

The 70th annual Cannes Film Festival is currently taking place from 17 to 28 May 2017, in Cannes, France. Spanish film director and screenwriter Pedro Almodóvar has been selected as the President of the Jury for the festival with Italian actress Monica Bellucci hosting the opening and closing ceremonies. Ismael's Ghosts, directed by French director Arnaud Desplechin, has been selected as the opening film for the festival.

The festival will be celebrating its 70th anniversary. In late March 2017, official poster of the festival was revealed featuring Italian actress Claudia Cardinale. The actress responded, "‘I am honoured and proud to be flying the flag for the 70th Festival de Cannes, and delighted with this choice of photo. It’s the image I myself have of the Festival, of an event that illuminates everything around … Happy anniversary!"

THE Cannes Film Festival sees some of the world’s biggest names touch down in the French Riviera for the annual international event. From photocalls, to premieres and screenings, the week-long festival ensures a sartorially-charged and star-studded event: combining the likes of Hollywood starlets Kirsten Dunst, Marion Cotillard and Kristen Stewart; a sprinkle of seasoned red-carpet experts Nicole Kidman, Julianne Moore and Susan Sarandon; and a touch of model glamour from Bella Hadid, Eva Herzigova and Emily Ratajkowski.  Cannes Film Festival 2017: It's a new day in the French Riviera, which Aishwarya Rai Bachchan embraced with her new look on Day 4 of the Cannes Film Festival. She made her first red carpet appearance at the Cannes Film Festival in a Michael Cinco dress on Friday evening. This is Aishwarya's 16th year at the Cannes Film Festival. Aishwarya and Aaradhya arrived on Thursday and the actress walked the red carpet as a L'Oreal Paris brand ambassador tonight. Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone set the red carpet on fire on Day 2 in Brandon Maxwell. For her first red carpet appearance on May 17, the opening day of the 70th Cannes Film Festival, Deepika opted for a risque marchesa dress. We also spotted Mallika Sherawat on Day 1 at the screening of French Film Les Fantomes d'Ismae. Shruti Haasan, Nandida Das and composer A R Rahman also made an appearance at Cannes.

The Cannes film festival is a yearly delight of fantasy and custom gowns. Often topped with extravagant jewels and new found tans, the fabulous looks from the Riviera red carpet never fail to impress.

So far, the dress of the festival must go to Elle Fanning's Vivienne Westwood showstopper, though thats not to say Naomie Harris' Gucci tulle and Charlotte Gainsbourg's Saint Laurent mini didn't give her a run for her money.
