Thangaratham is a Tamil movie starring Aadithi Krishna and Aadukalam Naren in prominent roles. The cast also includes Vetri and Mottai Rajendran. It is a drama directed by P. Balamurugan.

Thangaratham is an upcoming Tamil movie scheduled to be released on 16 June, 2017. The movie is directed by Balamurugan and will feature Vetri, Adithi Krishna and Rajendran as lead characters. Other popular actors who have been roped in for Thangaratham are Aadukalam Naren.

Balamurugan, a former associate of Jagan, who has worked with the likes of Cheran and Vijay, turns independent with Thangaratham. The movie has Vetri and Neeraja in the leads with a backdrop of a vegetable mandi. This is the first time a film has been shot extensively at the Oddanchatram Gandhi Vegetable Sandhai which is considered as TN’s second largest market.

“The movie is all about the rivalry between a boy who carries vegetables to the market and a group of men. So far, no other film has been shot at the Gandhi Market and that too in peak business hours. We managed to shoot for 15 days in the real location without creating a set,” claims the director. The supporting cast includes Soundararajan, Naan Kadavul Rajendran, and Naren among others.

It revolves around two load men working in a vegetable bazaar at Ottanchathiram Market, one of the biggest market places in Tamilnadu. Vettri and Aditi Krishna have played the lead roles. Soundararajan plays a crucial role in the movie. Aadukalam Naren, Swaminathan and Nan Kadavul Rajendran are also in the cast.

Interestingly the movie has good pitted against good. Vettri owns a tempo called Thangaradham and he carries load from Orranchathiram market. He is mentored by an influential man in the village (Aadukalam Naren). There is Soundararajan who is pitted against Vettri.

He owns a tempo too. Professional rivalry between them is reflected in everything. Aditi is sister of Soundararajan. She falls for Vettri. But fears that rivalry between his brother and Vettri may play spoilsport on their romance.

As it happens, Aditi's brother comes to know about their affair. Meanwhile in a bid to save Vettri from the anger of Soundararajan, Aadukalam Naren draws plans that creates confusion in the lives of everyone. What happens then forms an emotional climax.

Vettri and Soundararajan do well. Both get under the skin of the character to excel. Aditi has a major role to play Aadukalam Naren, Nan Kadavul Rajendran and Swaminathan are also in the cast.Had there been little pace in the script, Thangaradham would have been a different project.
