The announcement of the Tamil version of the reality show Bigg Boss has piqued our curiosity. With Kamal Haasan all set to host the show, fans of the actor and reality show lovers can hardly wait to see the 'drama' unfolding in the house. So, when a few people (14, to be precise) from media in Chennai were given the chance to have a sneak peek into the suspense-filled house for 24 hours, it was quite natural that they (including myself) were thrilled. Despite the uncertainty involved, all of us confidently said 'yes' to all the unknown challenges which were supposed to be thrown at us because we all thought that we are all journalists, so they'd be careful! Well... There was also the 'concession' offered to us. We had to spend only a day there as compared to the real contestants, a host of celebrities, who would have to stay in the house for an intimidating 100 days. We were also told that two people who were in the house the day before we went in, fell in love during the course of completing the challenges. And this sure sounded romantic and adventurous.

Around 9am on Wednesday, all the 14 of us assembled in a small room, set in the EVP Film City. We were asked to surrender all our valuables (which included cell phones, wallets, watches, keys, safety pins, paper bits, extra clothes, debit cards and business cards, to name a few) right at the entrance. A few minutes after breakfast, we were given various instructions — the prominent among them was the usage of microphone so that those who were monitoring our moves inside the house through multiple cameras could listen in on everything we spoke. All of us were taken to a nearby place with our eyes tied, and made to wait for some time. After a while, they let us inside what could be called as a well-furnished, spacious house.

The show will reportedly air at 9 pm on weekdays and 8.30 pm on weekends. The audiences are curiously looking forward to see which of their favourite contestants will be participating in the Kamal Haasan-hosted show. The 14 contestants will be locked inside the house for 100 days and every week, a contestant will leave the show based on the viewers’ vote. The contestants will be provided with all amenities, but no newspapers, mobile or laptops.

Bigg Boss Show Concept / Rules:

With all amenities, a palatial house is being constructed at the EVP Theme Park over the outskirts of Chennai for this reality show. The show consists of 15 celebrities as contestants who will survive in this house for about 100 days. Furthermore, they will be entirely interrupted from communication with outside world, yet will be observed for entire duration.

The contestants should not damage any property found in the house, should not sleep during the day time, should not come out from house other than the allotted timings. Contestants should not smoke or even consume alcoholic beverages. If contestants break the rules, they will be eliminated from the competition.
