Amitabh Bachchan Launches Velai Illa Pattathari 2 Official Teaser - Dhanush | Kajol | Soundarya Rajinikanth

Actor Dhanush's  sequel to Velai Illa Pattathari' 2's teaser was unveiled by none other than veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan on Wednesday. The much-expected teaser gives a sneak peak for fans into the life of Raghuvaran (played by Dhanush) in the second film.  The story and dialogues are penned by Dhanush. 

The teaser gives viewers an action-packed sequence with Samuthirakani (Raghuvaran's father) saying in the background, "Life will be boring if there are no enemies. It just means that you are doing something good in your field."

Directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth, the film also stars Bollywood star Kajol, Amala Paul, Vivek among others. Kajol, who was last seen in Kollywood in the 1997 release Minsara Kanavu, is reported to be playing a prominent role in the sequel. "Kajol plays a suave businesswoman, and there will be different shades to her character. Her character is such that she will lock horns with Dhanush," reported IANS.

 “I am a little apprehensive. But I love the fact that I am going back to Tamil (cinema) after a very long time and I am also extremely excited,” Kajol said after she roped in for the film.  “Dhanush is a very fine actor. I haven’t seen Soundarya’s work but she looks like she knows what she is talking about and we get along very well. So, things will be good,” she said

Samuthirakani and Amala Paul will reprise their roles in Velai Illa Pattathari 2. VIP 2 will be the second directorial venture for Soundarya Rajinikanth after Kochadaiyaan. Sameer Thahir, who has worked extensively in Malayalam cinema, will be cranking the camera and Sean Roldan will be scoring the music.

The movie is produced by Dhanush and 'Kalaipuli' S. Dhanu under the Wunderbar Films banner.

The film also stars Amala Paul and Samuthirakani in important roles. Velai Illa Pattathari, which talked about the state of engineering colleges in India, opened to fantastic response from fans. While the first part ended with Raghuvaran (Dhanush) becoming a successful civil engineer, VIP 2 will take the story forward from where VIP ended.

Sean Roldan has replaced Anirudh Ravichander as the music director for the film. Dhanush, who is currently shooting for his Hollywood project, awaits the release of his romantic thriller Enai Noki Paayum Thota. His highly anticipated gangster trilogy, Vada Chennai, is likely to release in the second half of this year.
